The "Compost your resolutions" campaign: a different way to start the year
Montreal, January 8, 2026 Every year, the pressure is on: eat better, move more, take care of yourself. Driven by good intentions, many Quebecers set ambitious goals that often become difficult to maintain over time. As a result, the initial momentum quickly fades, giving way to frustration rather than lasting change. This year, April proposes to rethink how we approach resolutions with its "Put your resolutions in the compost" campaign.
Simple reminders to support concrete actions
To help Quebecers adopt healthy habits without pressure, April offers a free tool which allows you to receive email reminders of daily micro-actions (such as drinking a glass of water upon waking before coffee, incorporating more protein into your meals, or taking a few minutes to move, etc.), expert tips, and product suggestions. Rather than aiming for radical transformations, the "Compost Your Resolutions" campaign encourages you to focus on these simple and realistic actions that, repeated every day, become... micro-victories concrete, accessible and sustainable.
« We don't question the desire to take care of oneself; quite the opposite. What we want is to help people set better intentions, more achievable and easier to maintain over time. For us, this means cultivating micro-victories, those small, everyday actions that add up and make a real difference. Avril is here to give Quebecers a little boost, without pressure or judgment, one small step at a time. »
– Alexandre Gaudreau, Marketing Director of Avril
Three months to cultivate better habits
Rolled out over approximately three months, the campaign revolves around inspiring and practical content: expert tips, healthy and delicious recipes, and product suggestions to support people in their daily lives. Five key pillars of well-being will be highlighted throughout the campaign: hydration, nutrition, vitality and well-being, movement, and beauty.
The goal: to remind people that taking care of oneself does not involve radical transformations, but realistic actions that naturally fit into routine.
A mission that is part of a long-term strategy
Having recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, the Quebec-based health food supermarket chain Avril has, since its inception, pursued its mission of bringing Quebecers closer to a healthy lifestyle by making natural and organic products accessible to all. A pioneer in a then-underdeveloped market, Avril continues to support consumers today with a diverse offering, including a private label of over 500 products, a loyalty program (Marguerite), a support program for healthcare professionals (Avril Pro), and partnerships promoting healthy lifestyles such as the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie.
With "Put your resolutions in the compost", Avril reaffirms its positioning: to encourage a caring, sustainable and realistic approach to well-being, one small step at a time.
