A NEW BRANCH WILL OPEN IN MONTREAL IN FALL 2026
Granby, June 15, 2026 – La Avril health supermarket chain announced today theopening of a new branch in the heart of the Golden Square Milein Montreal, thus continuing its development in Quebec. Scheduled for fall 2026, this future address, which will take place in the former Holt Renfrew space, represents an investment of $5,4 million allowing the creation of approximately 50 jobs and offering a space of 12,800 square feet.

An iconic address in the heart of Montreal
Located at 1300 Sherbrooke Street West, the branch will occupy the ground floor of a six-story office building in the heart of one of the city's most iconic neighborhoods. The Golden Square Mile, renowned for its rich heritage and historical role in the country's economic development, now offers a strategic setting to reach an urban, active clientele focused on their well-being.
This project also responds to the company's desire to bring its offering closer to urban living environments, by offering an experience that is both inspiring and rooted in its environment, while consolidating its presence on the Island of Montreal with the opening of this third branch.
A distinctive experience, blending food and lifestyle
True to Avril's DNA, the new location will offer a full range of products: fruits and vegetables, groceries, supplements, cosmetics, and ready-to-eat meals. Designed as a true living space, it will include a bistro with approximately 60 seats, along with several specialty counters, including a pasta bar, a bakery, a pastry shop, a gelato area, a selection of fine cheeses, and a wine, champagne, and cocktail tasting area.
Inspired by Art Deco aesthetics, the layout was designed to harmonize with the character of the neighborhood, while offering a warm and contemporary space.
Developed by real estate developer Brasswater, the building also houses the JOY Spa, a high-end urban spa in the semi-basement, helping to create a wellness hub in the heart of the city center.
A new step in the April rollout
With this opening, Avril will cross the threshold of 14 branches in Quebec, thus continuing the deployment of its network and confirming its ambition to make natural and organic products ever more accessible, in environments adapted to the realities of today's consumers.
