International-caliber pizza in a real neighborhood restaurant
Quebec City, June 3, 2026 — There are places you go to eat and others you return to because you feel at home. Next June, Pizzeria Locali will open the doors to a second address at 714 Saint-Jean Street, in the heart of Quebec Citywith at its head Patrice Desmeules, recently crowned world champion in the Traditional American category of the International Pizza Challenge (Pizza Expo).
Following the success of its first location in Montreal, Locali continues its expansion with a simple approach: offering world-class pizza in a real neighbourhood restaurant.
Founded by Alexandre Brunet and led in the kitchen by its executive chef, Fiodar Huminski, Locali draws inspiration from the first Italian families established in North America, who adapted the recipes of their nonnas with local ingredients. Today, this tradition continues through a local, modern and accessible approach. Cheeses, flours and meats come almost exclusively from Quebec, and Locali holds the Aliments du Québec certification.
A world victory even before the opening day
Barely a year after the brand's launch, Patrice Desmeules and Fiodar Huminski won first and second place worldwide in the American Traditional category at the International Pizza Challenge (Pizza Expo), considered the world's largest pizza championship.
With nearly 120 participants and a completely blind jury, this performance places Locali among the North American benchmarks of traditional pizza.
Beyond the competition, this victory also reflects the mentoring and training approach implemented by Fiodar Huminski. From competition preparation to the development of up-and-coming talent and future pizza makers, he shares his expertise to maintain a high level of excellence while supporting Locali's growth.
