Launch of the 2026 cohort of the Civic Incubator
When living environments become laboratories for solutions for Quebec 

Montreal, March 9, 2026 – La House of Social Innovation (MIS) unveils today the 20 initiatives selected for the 2026 cohort from its Civic Incubator, a structured and acclaimed support program. These initiatives, resulting from a call for projects launched last fall, were selected for their capacity to generate a lasting social and environmental impact at the community level. This project is made possible thanks to the financial participation of the Government of Quebec, the City of Montreal, and the Béati Foundation.

The selected projects demonstrate the richness and relevance of citizen responses to current challenges. Whether it's fighting against the energy poverty, to promote the Mental Health and neuroinclusionto support people at the end of their lives, to offer a safe living environment for young migrants, to prevent sexual violence Whether it's to make the ecological transition fairer and more accessible, these initiatives share a common ambition: to take concrete action at the community level to strengthen the social fabric and improve the quality of life in Quebec. Among the selected projects, 80% of participants are women, including 20% ​​from ethnic and racialized minorities, 20% from LGBTQ2+ communities, and 8% with visible or invisible disabilities.

Civic incubator: a recognized program accessible to all
Named Impact Champion at the 2023 Startup Community Gala, MIS continues to solidify its role as a catalyst for social innovation in Quebec. Since the creation of the Civic Incubator, over 190 leaders have been supported, 100 projects have been launched, and 71% of participants say the program was a turning point in their journey.

This program, valued at $15,000 per person, is offered free of charge thanks to the financial support of its partners: the Government of Quebec, the City of Montreal, and the Béati Foundation. The program also benefits from the support of a project management partner, PMI-Montreal, and La Presse as a media partner.
