Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, ambassador for the first edition on October 1st and 2nd at the RCA building

Montreal, August 19, 2026 — The first edition of DADAPresented by Baril Design, a new event dedicated to design will take place on October 1st and 2nd at the RCA building, a former iconic factory in Saint-Henri. Conceived as an experience to be lived rather than an event to be visited, DADA will bring together creators, artisans, architects, manufacturers, and enthusiasts of objects and spaces for two days of installations, collaborations, and encounters. Neither a trade show nor a fair, DADA offers a completely different way to experience design.

A journey through installations, conferences and workshops
DADA is ditching the traditional booths of design fairs for an immersive experience. The journey will feature installations, closer to art than design, co-created by creatives and experts. It will also include talks exploring design as a cultural practice, creative workshops, creative labs, and food and music events. Among the artisans and designers featured will be Ikea, Montauk, Baril, Cosentino, Luminaire Authentik, Sherwin Williams, Charles Turcotte, Fabrique Allwood, Full Room, Karim Zariffa, Lebicar, and more.

DADA is led by Azélie Pilon and Marie-Pier Bélanger, who are also co-founders of The room and magazine CouchThese two media outlets already inspire the design and renovation community in Quebec through content and projects created by housing experts. The event builds on this work, aiming to offer this community a new way to experience design: in person, in a space designed for collective interaction.

« We felt there was a lack of space to bring creators and brands together to collaborate in a different way, away from the more corporate codes of the industry. Design is so much better told when it can be brought to life, and that's exactly what we wanted to create with DADA. »  — Azélie Pilon and Marie-Pier Bélanger, co-founders of DADA

Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse as ambassador for the first edition of DADA
To embody this invitation to discover design, DADA has partnered with Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse as its ambassador. Host of the show Passion Poussière, where she notably shares the renovation of her own home, Sarah-Jeanne has made creating inspiring spaces a true passion. Her perspective on the beauty of everyday life and her authentic connection with her audience make her a natural voice to introduce DADA to those who love design without necessarily considering themselves experts.

The event's artistic direction is entrusted to Nicholas Sangaré, an interior designer and architectural technologist based in Montreal, and founder of the creative agency SANGARE. He personally selected around forty artisans, who will be integrated into the immersive experience to present unique pieces and limited series.
